Godhra carnage victims' ashes
to be immersed in Saryu river

At least two urns containing ashes and personal belongings of the victims of Sabarmati Express train carnage would be immersed in Saryu river at Ayodhya and Triveni Sangam at Allahabad on May 21, the Ramnavami day, the president of the Gujarat unit of Shiv Sena, Dipak Kharchikar said on Wednesday.

He said the urns have already been handed over to Ram Sharan Gupta and Santosh Dube-- office-bearers of the Bharatiya Vidyarthi Sena -- for their onward journey to Ayodhya and Allahabad.

Soon after the Godhra carnage, that claimed 58 lives, Shiv Sena workers had visited the site and collected the ashes, Kharchikar said.
