Over 25 people were taken into preventive custody in Godhra on Thursday ahead of Prime Minister's Atal Bihari Vajpayee's visit to the violence-ravaged parts of Gujarat.

Extra companies of paramilitary forces have been deployed in sensitive areas. Intelligence feeds have indicated that attempts would be made by unscrupulous elements to precipitate some incident when Vajpayee is in town, a senior police officer said.
