Violence spreads to Kutch,
curfew in Anjar

Indefinite curfew was clamped in Anjar town as communal violence spread to the Kutch region of Gujarat on Tuesday.

The situation, meanwhile, remained tense in Khanpur area of Ahmedabad after Monday night's violence.

Curfew was imposed in Anjar from 10 am after some shops were set on fire by a mob in the town on Monday night.

Clashes between two communities were also reported from Hajipur and Gandhidham towns of Kutch district.

Baroda's Commissioner of Police Deen Dayal Tuteja escaped an acid attack in Nawabvada-Patni area on Monday night.

Meanwhile, at least half a dozen persons have been rounded up in connection with Monday night's violence in Khanpur.
