Nepal invites Hrithik Roshan

Nepal has invited Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan to visit the Himalayan kingdom at the earliest to 'dispel' the misgivings created by the matinee idol's alleged controversial statement that had sparked violence in that country.

The film star had, however, categorically denied making any statement against the country or its people.

"Our Tourism Department has sought to clear the misgivings. It has invited the star to visit Nepal so that the unfortunate controversy is put to rest once and for all," Nepalese Ambassador in India Bhekh B Thapa told reporters after a book release function in New Delhi.

Hrithik is yet to confirm his visit to Nepal, Thapa said in reply to a question.

Stating that the tourism department has tried to 'take the corrective step', Thapa said "After all, the controversy and the subsequent anti-India violence in Kathmandu has badly hit our tourism industry."

He said Hrithik's films were drawing large crowds in the valley and Nepal had no grievance against him.
