Hurriyat says Pak visit anytime: PTI

"Right now, cancellation of the proposed visit of the Hurriyat team to Pakistan is not under discussion and it will take off any time despite hurdles and impediments," Hurriyat chairman Abdul Ghani Butt told PTI in Srinagar.

The conglomerate of 23 separatist organisations had announced a five-member delegation to Pakistan on January 15 will hold talks with the establishment and militant leaders to help resolve the Kashmir issue.

The visit, however, could not take off as the delegation members were not issued travel documents by the Centre and is still to do so.

On Union Home Minister L K Advani's statement that only "eligible" Hurriyat members will get passports, Butt said, "If they don't issue passports I have nothing to say", adding "if they do, all of us will have to say many things".

"We expect the Government of India will issue passports to all the seven executive members. If they don't do, no doubt I will feel upset," the Hurriyat chief said.

"I hope good sense will prevail... the anger will vanish and passports will be issued in favour of all seven executive members," Butt said.

In an apparent reference to militant attacks, he said, "Let us march (ahead) and not be deterred by whatever happens around".

On the unilateral ceasefire, he said it meant a one-sided ceasefire. "It does not mean that no blood will be shed or no innocent will be killed or there will be no attacks from the other side. But these things should not come in the way of peace process," he said.
