Condolence Message:Let us not forget the lesson learnt i.e. to honor the laws of land (even building by-laws) are for our good and not to be given a blind eye. let us also learn a lesson from HARI NAGAR (village just 2kms from Bhuj) which felt the full power of the quake but not even one single house fell nor major damages, only very few houses have some cracks. No loss of life, not even a dog! They were the first ones to saddle their milk and other bare necessities to reach Bhuj and helped many struck under the rubble. More importantly, we should not forget that freedom of religion should be honored, we should be tolerant towards other faiths. No hiding, Christians have been persecuted with their families for very long unceasingly. Love God and his people, and honor the law of the land and freedom provided in the constitution for all people to co-exist. violence may be tolerated by helpless communities but God will stand in their defence. May God grant grace to all affected by this devastating earthquake.

Condolence Message:Let us wake up and learn to honor the law of the land, even the building by-laws. Much tragedy could have been averted had we been sincere in following rules laid down for our good. We should learn lessons from Hari Nagar village (2kms from Bhuj) which felt the tremors but not even one single house collapsed and not even one dog dead! More importantly, honor the True and Living God. God's children have no doubt been persecuted to no limits in this state. This should stop and freedom of religion as permitted under the constitution honored. May God grant peace to the affected.

Condolence Message:We should not think that the earth quake has won. Our people did not die in vain, this earth quake did atleast decrease tension between India and Pakistan. Maybe mother nature wanted us to see an image of what kind of destruction lies ahead in the subcontinent if nuclear weapons were ever used.

Condolence Message:The Gujarat earthquake has been comprehensively covered by the international media. What has been the response of the rich nations? Many of them have sent specialised teams and equipment, which is great. But how much relief have they provided? Here are a few facts.
US State Department spokesman Richard Boucher announced that the US would increase "emergency humanitarian assistance" from an initial US$1million to US$5million, comprising two airlifts of food and other basic supplies, a ten-member relief team and other aid.
What's more important?- By way of comparison, the sum is one-eighth of the US$40million lavished on the Presidential inaugural celebrations for George W. Bush.
The response has been no different elsewhere. The European Union provided US$2.78million in emergency assistance. Britain has pledged US$4million, Germany US$475,000, Italy US$2.1million, Canada US$662,000, Norway US$1.1million, Sweden US$523,000. Japan has given US$900,000 to date and Australia US$1.5million. If one adds up all these figures from the world's wealthiest nations, the total is less than US$20million.
Compare that to the US$30million spent on the four-hour opening ceremony for the Sydney Olympic Games last year.
Reconstruction will cost anything between US$3-5billion.

Pray for the dead and help the living to get back to 'normal' as soon as they can. We are having a fund raising program today @ UT Arlington, TX & my daughter will be performing a Bharathanatyam dance in this program. It is being conducted by several organizations like the UT Indian students' assn, India Assn, etc.

May the destiny of Gujrat be embedded with painless roses. My heart leans over for the irreversable catastrophy which has plagued the gujjus and silenced "LAKHS" under the debris. The government should make soundful propositions to bridge the painful gap.
