Ghisingh's convoy ambushed
in Darjeeling: PTI

He said the gunmen attacked the convoy at 1800 hours IST and set on fire Ghisingh's pilot car.

There was no immediate information on the fate of Ghisingh, Mukherjee said, adding that heavy firing was going on between his security guards and the gunmen.

He said the driver of the pilot car informed police about the ambush over the wireless.

Ghising was going to Darjeeling after his return from New Delhi.

He had earlier addressed a press conference at Pintal village on the outskirts of Siliguri.

Top police officials from Darjeeling, Kurseong and Siliguri have gone to the spot.
