All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagham (AIADMK) supremo and former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa arrived in Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh) from Chennai on Monday night for a brief sojourn in the city.
Her trip comes in the wake of the Madras High Court verdict clearing her in two corruption cases, thereby paving the way for her return as chief minister in the near future.
Accompanied by her friend Sasikala Natarajan, Jayalalithaa came by a regular Indian Airlines flight and later drove to her farmhouse 'JJ Gardens' at Kompally on the city outskirts.
Waiting mediapersons were disappointed as the security men whisked her away in a bullet-proof car as soon as she stepped out of the tarmac.
Besides the Black Cat commandos, a 12-member Tamil Nadu police team, headed by a superintendent of police, has been assigned to ensure her security.
Sources indicated that she would stay in the city till the week-end. She is not scheduled to participate in any official or private programme.
