Maran may be discharged on Thursday

Union Industry and Commerce Minister Murasoli Maran, who is undergoing treatment for a heart ailment at the Apollo Hospital in Madras, is likely to be discharged on Thursday.

According to a special medical bulletin issued on Wednesday afternoon, Maran, whose condition continues to improve, is at present off life support systems. He was able to take short walks in the corridor and also climb stairs.

All his parameters and test results were normal, the bulletin said.

Maran is likely to be discharged at 0730 hrs on Thursday, the bulletin added.
