Jaya axes key aides in party reshuffleAll India Anna DMK general secretary J Jayalalitha has virtually reshuffled the entire party apparatus and removed some of her known confidants and long-time associates from key positions. Former Union minister and party treasurer Sedapatti R Muthiah, former minister and deputy general secretary K A Sengottaiyan and former minister and propaganda secretary E Madhusoodanan were among those removed from key positions. An announcement in this regard was made in the party organ Namadhu Mgr. T T V Dinakaran, MP and nephew of Jayalalitha's aide Sasikala Natarajan has been made the general secretary of the Jayalalitha Peravai in place of A Elavarasan. Former Union minister Kadambur Janardhanam has been removed from the post of general secrertary of the All India MGR Manram. Dindigul Sreenivasan, MP, is the new party treasurer. Jayalalitha also dissolved the party's administrative council. The AIADMK chief had been holding consultations with party functionaries at the district level for over a month now and changes in the organisational structure were in the offing. The changes come in the wake of the party's defeat in all the three by-elections to the state assembly held last month. The shake-up assumes significance as assembly elections are due early next year. Karuppasamy Pandian, who was a rising star of the party in the south, has been removed as deputy general secretary.
