Pondicherry government likely to fallThe Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam government in Pondicherry headed by R V Janakiraman was reduced to a minority and appears certain to fall following withdrawal of support by the Tamil Maanila Congress today. TMC territorial president P Kannan told a hurriedly convened press conference in Pondicherry this evening that he and TMC Legislature Party leader Rajasekera Odayar submitted a letter to the lieutenant governor's secretary conveying the party's decision to withdraw support to the government. Lt Governor Rajani Rai is away in Madras. Copies of the letter were forwarded to the chief minister and the speaker, Kannan added. |
