NC working committee may authorise Farooq to take final decisionMukhtar Ahmad in Srinagar The National Conference working committee began its meeting in Srinagar this morning under the chairmanship of party president and chief minister, Farooq Abdullah. All the WC members are attending today's meeting. The CM, who met newsmen briefly before the start of the meeting, said the working committee will discuss whether the National Conference should continue in the National Democratic Alliance or not. He said the meeting will have a detailed discussion on the subject today. The working committee, before taking up the formal agenda, mourned the death of its patron-in-chief, Begum Abdullah on July 11. The committee acknowledged her sacrifices and the personal sufferings she had to undergo. The meeting, which remained inconclusive on July 10, had to be postponed following her death. Sources said the working committee was likely to authorise Abdullah to take a final decision whether his party should continue in the NDA or walk out. The CM is slated to visit New Delhi on Monday for talks with the prime minister. EARLIER REPORT: NC to resume debate on Centre's rejection of autonomy See full coverage on autonomy
