Farooq meets Vajpayee

E-Mail this report to a friend

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah today met Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, on his return from a tour to south India, where he had said the autonomy issue would not end even if Parliament rejected it.

Abdullah refused to comment on details of his meeting.

He had asserted in Bangalore yesterday that the issue over the demand for autonomy for his state "will not end" even if Parliament rejected it. The J&K Assembly had passed a resolution last month.

"How should it matter if Parliament rejects it. We will continue to talk about it (autonomy). It will not end," he said.
