11 killed in clash among Assam ultras

GUWAHATI (AFP) - Separatist tribal guerillas on Tuesday shot dead 11 people belonging to a rival militant group in Assam, police said.

Heavily-armed militants of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland attacked members of the Bodo Liberation Tigers while they were in a meeting at Solmora village, 180 kilometres from Guwahati.

The two groups have long been involved in a fratricidal struggle.
