Abandoned Gemini Ganesan wife seeks CM helpJuliana, who shot to limelight when she married septuagenarian star Gemini Ganesan last year and fell out soon with him, is in the news again. This time she is seeking the intervention of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to end her woes. Juliana, whom Gemini Ganesan married to the surprise of his family, friends and fans, lived with him in a flat in T Nagar in Madras for five months before their marriage was on the rocks. In a petition to Karunanidhi, Juliana said she had been surviving by selling her jewellery and other articles since she was abandoned by her husband 10 months ago. She said she had been leading a comfortable life in Singapore before Gemini Ganesan persuaded her to marry him and brought her to Madras. Her problems began when her husband was hospitalised following an illness and his family members did not allow her to meet him. His family advocate also informed her over phone that Gemini Ganesan was not interested in living with her and offered her money for an out of court settlement. When she turned down the offer, they sent thugs who forcibly snatched away her mangalasutra , Juliana alleged. Even after Gemini Ganesan had returned from the United States after medical treatment, she was not allowed to meet him. She did not know his whereabouts. Gemini Ganesan's family had claimed that Juliana had been torturing the star as a result of which he had taken to excessive drinking. It was also alleged that Juliana had demanded Rs 5 million to agree to a separation but Gemini Ganesan's family agreed to pay only Rs 700,000. UNI
