Samata splinter merges in RJDThe newly floated Samata Party (Patel), comprising detractors of Samata Party leaders George Fernandes and Nitish Kumar, merged with the Rashtriya Janata Dal in Patna today. The decision was announced after a meeting between leaders of the Samata Party (Patel) and the RJD in the Bihar capital today. RJD president Laloo Prasad Yadav, Samata Party (Patel) president Krishan Patel, party legislator Shivanand Tiwari and others were present at the meeting. The four-member SP-P was formed after a split in the Samata Party during the budget session of the Bihar assembly in March.
