Panel submits report on Coimbatore riots

Former Gujarat high court chief justice P R Gokulakrishnan, who constituted the one-man commission to go into the communal riots in Coimbatore in the wake of the murder of traffic constable Selvaraj in November 1997, today submitted his second report to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.

The first report was submitted to the state government in November last year. Justice Gokulakrishnan handed over the report to Karunanidhi at the state secretariat in Madras.

The second report pertained to the compensation to be given to those affected in the riots.
