ASSEMBLY POLL '98
|
Tripura demands inquiry into Netaji's disappearanceThe Tripura assembly Thursday passed a motion urging the Union government to institute a fresh inquiry into Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's disappearance. Raised by Communist Party of India-Marxist legislator Sadhan Das, it demanded that the Centre arrange for examining related documents in and outside India. The motion said the people of India were still in the dark about what happened to Netaji during the Second World War. Different statements were made in Parliament at various times, but facts about his disappearance have not been made available to the people. "This House is of the opinion that the report of the death of Netaji in an alleged plane crash has not been proved beyond doubt and that the reports of the two commissions of inquiry set up by the government of India are not believed by the people and scholars of India," it said.
