ASSEMBLY POLL '98
|
Recovered skeletal remains have nothing to do with Bombay riots: policeThe Bombay police has denied that the skeletal remains recovered from a creek in the north-western suburbs of the metropolis has any connection with the 1992-93 communal riots. The human remnants including skulls, limbs and bones were recovered on Thursday from near the Jankidevi public school off Park street, near Mhada complex, Lokhandwala, at Andheri. The police and locals were confused over the recovery. There were rumours that these had relation with the post-Babri Masjid demolition riots during December 1992-January 1993. The police said that since a cemetery nearby is being repaired, the skeleton might have been dumped there. UNI
