ASSEMBLY POLL '98
|
As it should beHe is a swamiji with a difference. And he is here, in Thane. Swami Ramsukhdasji Maharaj is in this Maharashtra district bordering Bombay for a week-long visit. Unlike some of his famous contemporaries, Swami Maharaj is far distanced from pomp and luxury - in fact, he survives on the biksha (alms) he gets every day. Before we forget, he doesn't have an ashram! And, oh yes, he doesn't allow anyone to touch his feet! If anyone does, he skips his meals for the day as penance. It was at the age of 20 that the swamji started giving religious discources, and editing the magazine Kalyan. Since then, he has authored more than 50 books. A keen student of the Bhagwat Gita, he wrote the famous Sadhak Sanjeevani. The swamiji's other notable characteristics include his refusal to be photographed. UNI |
