Subramanian Swamy demands probe into Bhagwat sackingJanata Party leader Subramanian Swamy demanded a judicial commission of enquiry to probe into the sacking of chief of naval staff, Admiral Vishnu Bhagwat. He said the commission should be headed by a sitting Supreme Court judge and should probe all aspects that resulted in the dismissal of an admiral, first time in Indian history. He said it was very unfortunate and unwarranted decision of the government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party. He held Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Defence Minister George Fernandes responsible for the incident. Swamy also suggested that a committee of formal admirals, who have retired in the last 20 years, be constituted to examine the matter and its consequences in detail.
