Jharkhand cannot be carved out of Bihar alone: RJDThe Rashtriya Janata Dal is not opposed to the creation of a greater Jharkhand but would not allow Bihar alone to be bifurcated for the creation of such a state, the RJD chief whip in the Bihar assembly Nematullah said today. Appealing to the people of south Bihar to ensure the success of the party-sponsored Bihar bandh on December 14, he said his party was against the vested designs of the Rashtriya Swayemsevak Sangh to colonise 18 districts of state in the name of Vananchal. The RJD, he said, favoured an administrative arrangement dominated by the tribals and hence supported the region's traditional demand of a greater Jharkhand state comprising 26 districts of Bihar, West Bengal, Orissa and Madhya Pradesh.
