RJD's anti-Vananchal stir opposed

E-Mail this report to a friend

A massive campaign has been launched by the pro-Jharkhand state sympathisers to counter the Rashtriya Janata Dal's proposed Bihar bandh on December 14.

The bandh had been called against the creation of a separate Vananchal state.

Pamphlets had been distributed by the Jharkhand Hifazat Manch, an apolitical organisation of pro-state sympathisers, calling upon the people not to support the bandh in the Jharkhand region.

The Manch also exhorted the people to participate in the movement by putting up posters, banners and flags in different parts of Ranchi.

It called for the isolation of forces that ''worked against the realisation of their age-old demand''.

Meanwhile, political parties in Ranchi have decided to oppose the bandh saying, ''Anti-state forces will not be allowed to gain ground in the area. Their design of stalling the state's creation will not be allowed to succeed.''
