DMK to contest six Bombay seatsThe ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam in Tamil Nadu, a constituent of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance, will contest the Bombay North Central Lok Sabha and five assembly seats in Bombay. The DMK will field candidates in Matunga, Dharavi, Chembur, Trombay and Mulund assembly constituencies, party general secretary K Anbazhagan announced today. In Karnataka too, the DMK will field candidates in Bharati Nagar and Gandhi Nagar assembly seats in Bangalore and at the Kolar Gold Fields, he added. In Andhra Pradesh, the party will put up candidates at Sullurpeta, Sathyavedu, Nagari, Chittoor, Puthur and Nellore assembly constituencies. Anbazhagan said the respective state party units had been asked to be in touch with the DMK headquarters. The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazagham will field candidates in five Lok Sabha seats including Bangalore North and South, and 14 assembly constituencies in Karnataka. The list of candidates was announced by AIADMK chief J Jayalalitha in a media statement today. Following is the list of party candidates for the five Lok Sabha seats: Bangalore North -- M Sundaram, Bangalore South -- D Arumugam, Mysore -- Amjad Khan, Shimoga -- C Basavaraj and Chikmagalur -- Venkata Lakshmi. The list of candidates for the 14 assembly constituencies is: Bharati Nagar -- V Pugazhendi, Gandhi Nagar - M P Yuvaraj, Chikpet -- M Thangavel, Chamrajpet -- M Ezhumalai, Jayamahal -- M K Balaraman (all in Bangalore), Kolar Gold Fields -- M Bhaktavatsalam, Yelahanka -- R Ezhilan, Shimoga -- M M Kuppuswami, Bhadravati - Ellamma, Hanur -- V M Shah Jehan, Chikmagalur -- Mary Ammal, Kadur - Victor Kumar, Davanagere -- H Krishnamurthy and Krishnaraja -- Madavayya.
