PMK urges PM to call coordination committee meetPattali Makkal Katchi founder leader Dr S Ramadoss today urged Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to convene a meeting of the coordination committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led coalition at the Centre to arrive at a consensus on solving the problems in the alliance. In a letter to Vajpayee, a copy of which was released to the media in Madras, he said, "It is important that none of us ventures to articulate our concerns and apprehensions even if they exist, through the press as this thwarts the purpose for which our alliance was set up and tends to destabilise a sense of unity." Dr Ramadoss expressed confidence that an understanding could be reached if the prime minister convened a meeting of the cooridnation committee "to jointly decide on measures to avoid acrimony and more importantly questions about our ability to work together under your (Vajpayee's) leadership". Dr Ramadoss' letter, released today, was sent to the prime minister earlier this week, before AIADMK supremo J Jayalalitha pledged continued support to the Vajpayee government. UNI
