MDMK set to join Vajpayee's ministryThe Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, which now extends outside support to the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government at the Centre, will join the Vajpayee government, party sources said. MDMK deputy general secretary and Tindivanam MP Chenji Ramachandran will be the party's nominee, the sources added. Ramachandran will join the ministry during the next Cabinet expansion likely to be effected next week. The MDMK was invited to join the government in March. However, party general secretary Vaiko chose to support the government from outside. Vaiko had recently stated that even if the party joined the Cabinet, he (Vaiko) would not be the party nominee.
