Jayalalitha expels ex-legislator

Former All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam legislator S Annamalai was today expelled from the party by party general secretary J Jayalalitha for "anti-party" activities.

Jayalalitha, in a statement in Madras, said Annamalai had worked against the party nominee in the general election and tried to bring disrepute to the party.

Annamalai was also a former secretary of the party's south Madras unit.
