George meets Jaya for second time in three daysDefence Minister George Fernandes met All India Anna DMK chief J Jayalalitha for the second time in three days in what appeared to be a last ditch attempt to ensure the AIADMK led front's continued support to the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government at the Centre. It was not clear whether any assurance had been received by Fernandes from the AIADMK chief in this regard at the end of the 95-minute talks. Although he described the meeting as good and useful , the substantive aspects of the talks were not revealed by Fernandes, while talking to reporters outside Jayalalitha's Poes Garden residence, saying he would first brief the prime minister before revealing the gist of the talks to the media. He said he had discussed with Jayalalitha the whole lot of issues . He, however, declined to elaborate. UNI
