Enough is enough, no further probe, says Joshi

No further enquiry will be held into the communal riots that took place in the post-Ayodhya incident in 1992-93 and the serial bomb blasts after the Srikrishna Commission report, Maharashtra Chief Minister Manohar Joshi said today.

Talking to mediapersons outside the state Vidhan Bhavan, after tabling the Srikrishna Commission report, along with the action taken report in the state legislature today, he said, ''Enough is enough. There was no question of any further enquiry into the riots.''

The findings of the Srikrishna Commission, which was tabled in the legislature today, were rejected by the state government describing it as 'biased'.

The report could not be accepted by the government since it was totally prejudiced against the Hindus and would lead to countrywide false propaganda against Hindus, Joshi added.

When asked whether any action would be taken against Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray, the chief minister said, ''There was no question of taking any action against him, rather I will join him in the agitation.''

Joshi said the government has rejected all references made against Thackeray as there was no concrete evidence. He further said it was regrettable that the Commission had made no comments about communal Muslim leaders responsible for instigating their community during the riots.
