Plot: Love blooms between business class guy (Kapoor) and working class girl (Sridevi) during a Delhi wedding, only to meet with opposition from the boy's uptight momma. A freak accident causes the lovers to part ways. And, just when the girl is set to move on with a well to do alternative (Vinod Khanna), her old flame beckons. Who gets whom? That's for Chandni to decide.
 
Aces: No one quite understands romance the way Yash Chopra does. In Chandni, he exquisitely conveys the sweet tempered passion and complex nature of this four-lettered emotion (love, duh!) through seasoned performers and engaging conversations set against a stunning Swiss backdrop. If you are a Sridevi fan, watch her transformation from bubbly romantic to withdrawn introvert. Not to forget Rishi Kapoor's sweaters and Vinod Khanna's charming presence and Shiv-Hari's effervescent melody.

Trouble brews when elder bro is held captive by a scheming baddie (Amjad Khan) and a look-alike is introduced in his place

Aces: Chain coolie ki, main coolie ki, Jai! What does that mean? Beats me! But it became a slogan of sorts every time one decided to be reckless. What makes this one special is a series of comical episodes between the nutty brothers, the rocking Bachchan-Malini chemistry, and R D Burman's frolicking score. Especially the Godfather of all songs -- Pyaar Humein Kis Mod Pe. A winsome entertainer for all time from Big B's [Images] never-ending blockbuster collection!

Film: The Wind and The Lion (English)
Cast: Sean Connery [Images], Candice Bergen, John Huston and Brian Keith.

Plot: Set in the early twentieth century, this part-real part-fiction desert adventure takes place when a group of Moroccan Berbers (headed by Sean Connery) kidnap an expatriate's widow (Bergen) and children, instigating American President Theodore Roosevelt (Keith) to employ his big stick policy.

Aces: Sean Connery playing a Moroccan brigand may sound farfetched on paper. On screen, it's an altogether different story. The Scot plays Mulay Achmed Mohammed el-Raisuli the Magnificent with �lan. Ditto for Brian Keith's convincing portrayal of the former American President. The grand action-packed drama, loosely based on the 1904 real life kidnapping of Ion Perdicaris, is an intelligent concoction of fact and fiction. Jerry Goldsmith's Oscar nominated score lends a larger-than-life aura to the proceedings.

Film: Legally Blonde (English)

Plot: She's (Witherspoon) bold, beautiful and blonde. Her golden tresses and penchant for pink make her an easy target for prejudiced mindsets which strongly believe that blonde = dumb. Owing to this reason, her Ivy League boyfriend (Davis) dumps her for a nerdy lass (Blair) and heads to Harvard to pursue law. Miss Blonde decides to enrol herself in the same school for the same course, to prove that blondes can defend their case and how!

Aces: Long before she became June Carter-Cash (in Walk the Line), Reese Witherspoon was known for her vivacious avatar as Elle Woods. Legally Blonde would be another run of the mill chick flick if it weren't for the vibrant and witty actress. A funny and charming comedy with a zippy soundtrack, this is an effortless watch. Avoid the sequel though.

Film: Sadak (Hindi)

Plot: A taxi driver (Dutt), tormented by his past, finds a purpose in life when he falls for a young girl (Bhatt) sold into a brothel. He swears to rescue her at any cost from the vile pimps and nasty hoodlums.

Aces: Loosely inspired by Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver, Sadak was an intense action thriller with lilting Nadeem-Shravan compositions. Amrapukar's terrifying portrayal as the powerful eunuch Maharani won him a Filmfare award for Best Villain. Sanjay Dutt's career also got a much-needed boost from the box office success and critical acclaim for his emotionally charged performance. He hit the jackpot again that same year (1991) with Saajan.
