The film boasts of great talents of Kannada films. The story is credited to Vijayendra Prasad, writer of many blockbusters in Telugu and Kannada. Though stars of the stature of Ravichandran, Rambha and Prema play important roles in this 'so called' comedy, it is a painful viewing experience. But for a few giggles here and there, the film has nothing. The fact that Pandu Ranga Vittala released nearly a year after it got ready throws some light on its quality. Even the film's pre-release publicity could not redeem it.
The film suffers from crude comedy sequences, jarring music and cheap lyrics. One is bound to feel sorry for an actress like Prema who has a disappointing role to play. Songs picturised on Rambha and Prema though aimed at titilating the audience fall flat.

Pandu Ranga Vittala is the story of a person, Vittala, and his two wives, Prema and Rambha. Tricks he adopts to manage the wives form the crux of the film. A hint in the earlier part of the film suggests that the plot consists of three different people -- Pandu, Ranga and Vittla. But in the interval, it is revealed only one person, assisted by many other characters, creates the confusion. Though writer Vijayendra Prasad specialises in writing such stories in Telugu, he fails to present a convincing plot in PRV.
The film has six songs shot by Ravichandran. He has composed music and has also written the lyrics, some of which are in bad taste. The usual sensuousness of Ravichandran-directed songs is missing, partly because Rambha and Prema look aged. Ravichandran tries to salvage the film by his good comic timing in a few sequences but a bad narrative mars his effort.
Prema and Rambha don't do much than filling in their spots. Doddanna, Mukhyamanthri Chandru are slightly better. It is sad to see a talented actress Shruthi wasted. Director Dinesh Babu known for creating good comedy fails completely.
In a nutshell, Panduranga Vittala... is a sheer waste of time.
