Abhishek Bachchan in a remake of
RunBoney Kapoor is one of the busiest producers in Bollywood. Even as he prepares Khushi, he has already gone on the floors with three new projects, one of them being a remake of the Madhavan blockbuster Run. The Hindi remake will be directed by K Sreeram and will feature Abhishek Bachchan in the lead.
"That boy has got tremendous potential," enthuses Boney. And who will play the important role of the villain, played by Atul Kulkarni in Tamil ? "I have Mahesh Manjrekar in mind for that ," says Boney. After his devious evil act in Kaante, Mahesh is one of the most sought-after actors in the Hindi film industry.
Suniel Shetty teams up with Ram Gopal Varma
The duo had worked together last in Jungle. Now Suniel Shetty and Ram Gopal Varma are coming together again for the latter's international project Ek, featuring an array of stars.
Suniel isn't nervous about being drowned by the biggies. "I have a very interesting and well-defined role . I'm very happy to be working with Ramu again. We had some great times during Jungle," he says. He is also doing a negative role in debutante director Farha Khan's Main Hoon Na. Says Sunil, "It feels good to be doing so many varied things at this stage of my career."
Ek
also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgan, Fardeen Khan, Vivek Oberoi and Nana Patekar. The actresses have not been signed yet. Says Varma, "Though it is a predominantly macho film, the ladies have a lot to do."The biggest surprise is the inclusion of Sanjay Dutt in the cast of Ek. The last time Dutt worked with Varma was in Daud. Dutt and Shetty, who are very close friends in real life, worked together in Kaante. Shetty says, "The comfort level between us is really high. We really enjoyed working together in Kaante. I'm looking forward to working with him again."
Priyanshu's sense of humour
His performance in Aapko Pehle Bhi Kahin Dekha Hai was not well-appreciated. Tell him the film has some nice moments but it doesn't hold together and Priyanshu Chatterjee quips, "You're trying to be polite, right?"
After his debut in Tum Bin, this is his second collaboration with director Anubhav Sinha. Priyanshu now looks forward to Dil Ka Rishta, due for release on January 17, where he plays Aishwarya Rai's dead husband. And in Pinjar, he is cast as Urmila Matondkar's husband-in-waiting. Ask him about his rumoured affair with Issha Koppiker and Priyanshu retorts, "How can we have an affair? We play siblings in Pinjar!"
