Sutherland Global Services, a US-based business process outsourcing company, will expand operations at its Mumbai centre by inducting an additional 1,000 IT experts.
The company, which provides services to hi-tech, finance and telecom sectors, would triple its employee base and expand space at operations in Mumbai, the BPO entity said in a release in Mumbai on Tuesday.
Dillip Vellodi, its chairman and chief executive, said since beginning of the operations in January, the centre has surpassed the client performance expectations with the help of highly qualified talent pool and good telecom set up.
"This development represents successful transition of client services to new facility and we expect to expand further in Mumbai over the next 12 months," Vellodi said.
Sutherland has already received $30 million in the first round of funding and was supporting four offshore customer management centres in Chennai and Mumbai, the release added.
