Mobile services major Tata Indicom on Friday made an entry into prepaid segment by launching its 'True Paid' brand. It roped in cricketers Sourav Ganguly and Irfan Pathan as its brand ambassadors.
The new service offers facilities like one-second pulse, 100 per cent talktime and single rate for local and STD calls.
"True Paid brand customers would get a talk time equal to the value of recharge voucher, without deducting any administration charges or plan fee," Tata Teleservices Ltd's managing director S Ramakrishnan told reporters in Mumbai on Friday.
As part of an introductory offer, a free usage period until November 14 would also be available to customers subscribing to 'True Paid' from Saturday, company president Amit Bose said.
The introductory scheme offers the customers free calls for 100,000 seconds and 2,000 SMS free of charge, he said.
The customers would also get a free Tata Indicom calling card, enabling STD and ISD facilities, upto Rs 100 on coloured handsets and Rs 50 on black and white handsets.
Indian skipper Saurav Ganguly and pace bowler Irfan Pathan have been signed for an undisclosed sum as brand ambassadors for Tata Indicom.
'True Paid' customer could opt for R-UIM (removable user identity module) enabled Nokia 2280 and Motorola C131 handsets, Bose said.
