Singapore Airlines to start Ahmedabad flights

Singapore Airlines will be starting a tri-weekly service to Ahmedabad from July this year keeping in view the city's importance in the fields of information technology and textiles.
The service will begin from July 28 this year and will operate from Singapore every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, a company release said.
With the commencement of this service, the number of cities covered by the airline in the country would be six. It is already flying to Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata besides New Delhi.
Ahmedabad was chosen for its famous textile mills, flourishing diamond industry besides developing a reputation of growing software development city.
Singapore Airlines has also increased its non-stop services to Mumbai from 10 to 12 weekly. This brings to 31 the total number of non-stop weekly services to India at the start of the season and the number would rise to 34 after the service to Ahmedabad commenced.
