Hyundai mulls price hike
March 18, 2004 19:23 IST
India's second-biggest carmaker Hyundai Motor India on Thursday said it planned a price hike in April this year due to rising input costs.
"Input costs for a car like Santro have gone up to the tune of 3-4 per cent. Our prices may go up somewhere between Rs 8,500 to Rs 11,000," HMIL president B V R Subbu said in New Delhi.
Automakers like Maruti and Ford are also planning to jack up prices due to spiraling steel costs.
Utility vehicle maker Mahindra and Mahindra has already effected a price rise, citing similar reasons.
