Tata Power arm to go global

March 05, 2004 14:52 IST

Aiming to go global, Tata Power's strategic electronics division said on Friday that it was targeting a ten-fold increase in turnover over the next five years at Rs 450 crore (Rs 4.5 billion) and was interested in partnering international players to provide support services.

Rahul Chaudhry, chief executive officer, Tata Power Broadband said the division was interested in increasing export business and was looking at export opportunities in the "right skill domain".

However, with not many private defence suppliers, the Tata Group arm would continue to focus on the domestic defence business.

Chaudhry said the division was looking at tie-ups with international players by providing support services for large projects. However, the group would consider such offers as and when they come up taking into account the profile of the partner.

The arm is already into development of rugged PCs, servo controlled platforms besides other special applications.
