Exports grow 14% in Nov

Exports bounced back in November 2003 to register 13.74 per cent growth at $4.494 billion as against $3.951 billion in November 2002.
According to an official trade data release, in rupee terms, exports stood at Rs 20,458.90 crore (Rs 204.59), which is 7.3 per cent higher than the value of exports in November 2002.
Export growth in October 2003 had slipped to single digit at 5.07 per cent at $4.884 billion against $4.649 billion in October 2002.
Exports during April-November, 2003-04 were valued at $36.502 billion, which is 8.1 per cent higher than the level of $33.546 billion during April-November, 2002-03.
This is over and above 17.99 export growth in April-November, 2002-03 over the corresponding period the previous year, the release stated.
In rupee terms, exports were at Rs 1,68,758.55 crore (Rs 1,687.58) during April-November, 2003-04 which is 3.39 per cent higher than the value of exports during April-November, 2002-03.
The country's imports during April-November, 2003-04 were valued at $47.718 billion, representing an increase of 21.97% over the level of imports valued at $39.124 billion in April-November, 2002-03.
In rupee terms, imports increased from Rs 1,90,327.19 crore (Rs 1,903.27) to Rs 2,20,582.29 crore (Rs 2,205.82), showing a growth of 15.90 per cent during the period, the release stated.
Imports during November, 2003 were valued at $6.412 billion, an increase of 26.45 per cent from $5.071 billion in November, 2002.
In rupee terms, imports rose by 19.29 per cent during November, 2003, the release added.
