Sensex closes @ 6,316, down 6 points

The Sensex lost six points to close at 6,316. The Nifty also ended weak at 1992 - down a point.
Reliance dropped 2.60% (Rs 14) to Rs 517. HLL, after registering strong gains yesterday, moved up 2.52% (Rs 4) to Rs 155. ITC was up a per cent (Rs 11) at Rs 1,276.
SBI was down a per cent (Rs 5) at Rs 571. L&T slumped 5.11% (Rs 49) to Rs 911.
BHEL shed 2.33% (Rs 16) to Rs 659. While Reliance Energy lost 1.38% (Rs 8) to Rs 559, Tata Power was down a rupee at Rs 345.
ICICI Bank gained 2% (Rs 7) to Rs 364. HDFC Bank logged 1.10% gains (Rs 5) to Rs 482.
Infosys pared gains on profit-taking to end with a modest gain of Rs 9 at Rs 2,039. While Wipro advanced 2% (Rs 15) to Rs 757, Satyam closed down a tad at Rs 410.
HPCL, after a mixed outing, added 1.23% (Rs 5) to Rs 384. Zee scaled up 3.14% (Rs 5) to Rs 163.
Cement, pharma and auto stocks largely exhibited weak trends today.
