Sensex closes at 6323, down 5 points

The Sensex, after moving in a narrow range through the trading session, ended 5 points down at 6,323. The Nifty was down 3 points at 1,996.
Infosys was down 1.52% (Rs 32) to Rs 2,050. While Satyam shed 2.73% (Rs 12) to Rs 412, Wipro was down a per cent (Rs 5) at Rs 750.
While HDFC dropped 4.45% (Rs 36) to Rs 768, Zee slumped 4.51% (Rs 7) to Rs 150.
SBI and HDFC Bank were down a per cent each at Rs 577 (down Rs 5) and Rs 482 (down Rs 6), respectively. ICICI Bank, however, gained 2.84% (Rs 10) to Rs 353.
ITC ended with a loss of Rs 6 at Rs 1,280. While Reliance added Rs 2 to Rs 543, HLL was up a rupee at Rs 145.
ONGC was up 1.12% (Rs 9) at Rs 841.
Ranbaxy jumped 2.84% (Rs 32) to Rs 1,162. While Dr. Reddy's added 1.72% (Rs 14) to Rs 815, Cipla is up 1.25% (Rs 4) at Rs 292.
L&T soared nearly 5% (Rs 47) to Rs 999 on strong buying support.
