Reliance Info launches Net on mobiles

Reliance Infocomm, the mobile service provider, has introduced a complete range of ISP services for its subscribers. Under the R Connect service platform, Reliance Infocomm subscribers can access Internet using their CDMA mobiles.

While the "Freedom Plan" offers the subscribers an unlimited Internet surfing option with maximum data downloads of up to 1GB per month for a monthly charge of Rs 650, the "Platinum Plan" allows unlimited data downloads for a monthly charge of Rs 1,500. R Connect users can also avail of email service with a 10-MB mailbox.

Kamal Nanavaty, head, wireless business, Reliance Infocomm, said: "With the launch of these attractive data tariffs, the user can now economically work from anywhere and access Internet using our high speed wireless data connectivity."

A one-time installation of the dial-up software will enable the subscribers to access the Internet from anywhere on the Reliance network without changing the dial-up configurations.

According to a press release, a subscriber will be able to create his or her e-mail ID through the phone number configured for the service.

The user will be able to send and receive messages of a maximum 2 MB size (with attachment) which will be allotted to the subscriber with his/her domain name and explicitly support the hosting of WebPages in HTML and Java formats.
