Lufthansa daily flights between Frankfurt, Chennai

The German carrier Lufthansa will operate daily non-stop flights between Chennai and Frankfurt starting December 1 2003.
With the addition of the seventh Chennai-Frankfurt flight, Lufthansa will operate 24 flights between India and Germany, with 10 flights alone from Southern India via its gateways in Chennai and Bangalore.
Lufthansa plans to increase its Bangalore-Frankfurt flights from three to six weekly flights from December 2003 to February 2004, subject to government approval.
The German carrier appreciates the efforts made by the Indian government, and has been actively participating in the Open Skies Policy in response to the increasing seasonal traffic demand.

The German carrier has daily flights each from New Delhi and Mumbai, has six flights from Chennai and three flights from Bangalore to Frankfurt.
In a press statement Werner Heesen, director south Asia, Lufthansa German Airlines, said, "We are pleased to link Chennai to Frankfurt with daily services to cater to the growing travel demand from the southern region as well as provide further choices and convenient connections to our passengers."
"This daily connectivity reflects the rising trade and tourism links between southern India and Germany. We believe that additional capacity will attract further inbound traffic, which will help further enhance potential business and tourism growth in India," he said.
