Santro prices hiked by up to Rs 12,000

Hyundai Motor India on Friday hiked prices of its premium small car Santro by Rs 10,500 to Rs 12,000 with immediate effect, company sources said.
With this, the price of the basic LE variant of the car has been increased by Rs 10,500 to Rs 3,29,721 (ex-showroom Delhi) while that of the LP version has been hiked by Rs 11,000 to Rs 3,45,395, sources told PTI.
Price of the LS variant of the Santro has been upped by Rs 11,000 to Rs 3,70,119 while the GS model has been hiked by Rs 12,000 to Rs 3,92,834.
Sources attributed increase in input costs for the latest price hike.
They, however, said that there were no immediate plans to increase prices of the mid-sized Accent or luxury sedan Sonata.
Hyundai, the country's second largest carmaker, produces cars at its plant near Chennai, which has an annual production capacity of 150,000 units.
