BPL Mobile hikes rental, access fees

Even as cellular companies announced on Tuesday free incoming calls on their network, BPL Mobile has increased the rentals and access fee of both its pre-paid and post-paid users by Rs 100 and Rs 54 respectively from January 24.
BPL Mobile has entered into an inter-network connect agreement with leading GSM operators and in order to avail of this facility, its post-paid subscribers will pay a rental of Rs 349 per month as against Rs 295 per month, BPL Mobile said in a statement in Mumbai.
The company has also reduced airtime rate on its pre-paid card by five paise to Rs 1.75 for a 60 seconds pulse.
In case of pre-paid users access charge for denomination of Rs 315 has been increased to Rs 150 from present Rs 100 and for Rs 525 card it has been increased by Rs 25 to Rs 125.
The statement said there would be no change in access fees for denominations in the scale of Rs 785, Rs 1,050, Rs 2,100 and Rs 2,625.
