Rajan Raheja-promoted Hathway Cable and Datacom on Friday announced the launch of digital set top boxes in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai, and said it would announce channel pricing by next week.

In the zone-wise rollout of conditional access system, Hathway would be providing its digital services in South Delhi, South Mumbai and the entire Chennai city with digital signal quality and value-added services like the Electronics Programme Guide.

"We have selected some of the world leaders in cable TV solutions providers to upgrade our entire network to a digital one complete with value-added services, bringing to our subscribers an enhanced cable TV viewing experience," chief executive officer of Hathway K Jayaraman told newspersons.

Hathway has selected NDS as the prime systems integrator and technology provider for the digital network upgrade and will also oversee integration of the set-top box, compression systems and subscriber management systems.

For digital compression and delivery of channels, Hathway has selected Scientific Atlanta to set up a unit for digital compression and transmission, which can provide up to 1,000 digital channels.

The company has chosen Entriq (formerly known as Mindport) as the Subscriber Management Solutions provider and all customisations as per scope have been completed.

HUMAX of Korea has been selected as the company's principal vendor for supply of STBs.
