Gates visits Satyam Technology Centre
Syed Amin Jafri in Hyderabad Microsoft chairman Bill Gates on Thursday visited Satyam Technology Centre at Bahadurpally on the outskirts of the city and also addressed an executive council meeting of Nasscom (National Association of Software and Service Companies) at the STC campus. A Satyam Computers media release said Bill Gates, accompanied by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, met Satyam chairman B Ramalinga Raju and several senior executives of the company. Commenting on the visit, Ramalinga Raju said: "Satyam engages with Microsoft at various levels worldwide. As a services organisation that provides customised business solutions to large corporations, our relationship with Microsoft as a technology partner has helped us to deliver high business value to clients." "We see this visit as a significant step forward in the Microsoft and Satyam relationships, both in technology adoption and on-the-field engagement, for the mutual benefit of Microsoft and Satyam and more importantly for the benefit of clients," Raju explained. He pointed out that in the late 1990s, Satyam pre-empted the strategic importance of Microsoft technology in the enterprise business solutions space by creating a unit known as the Microsoft Solutions Group to research, architect, develop and implement solutions using Microsoft's cutting edge technologies. Today, this group has over 300 researchers, architects and developers with in-depth, proven expertise on Microsoft's .NET framework and has successfully delivered high performance, scalable, core business .NET solutions to large international clients. Through its partnership, MSG has been an early adapter of .NET technologies, since their pre-beta or beta stages, he added. ALSO READ:
