Pivotals gains towards fag-end; Nifty crawls up a tad to 1125.15
Market witnessed a marginal recovery as pivotals firmed up at the fag end of the session due to last minute buying from the local and foreign institutional investors at the National Stock Exchange today. The S&P CNX Nifty Index opened at 1120.65 points, touched the day's high of 1127.65, low of 1107.20 before finally closing at 1125.15, showing a net gain of 1.35 points from the previous close of 1123.80. CNX Nifty Junior also gained marginally by 0.30 points after it opened at 1942.80 and closed at 1920.55 points, over its previous close of 1945.35 points. It reached a day's high of 1947.85 and 1920.55 during the day. The S&P CNX Defty also gained by 1.60 points to close at 908.15 points as compared to its yesterday's close of 906.55 points. S&P CNX-500 and Midcap 200 ended higher by 3.82 and 1.55 points to 768.43 and 663.99. The total turnover on the NSE was Rs 15.59 billion from trading in 69.42 million shares. Debentures traded were valued at Rs 3.32 million. Today, 485 advanced, 398 declined, 91 scrips remained steady while 53 scrips hit their price bands. UNI |
