Part I -- Why SAT is important
Yesterday, we provided an introduction and an overview of the SAT, an important US university entrance exam. Today, we'll cover SAT registration -- registration methods, registration fees and available test dates.
Registration methods
There are different ways of registering for SAT:
1. By mail: You need to register by mail, if one of the following applies to you:
~ You want to pay by check or money order.
~ You are younger than 13 years of age.
~ You are registering for the first time for Sunday testing .
To register by mail, you need a SAT Registration Booklet, which should be available through your school. The Registration Form and return envelope are included in the SAT Registration Booklet.
Your completed registration form must be returned in the envelope provided with proper payment.
The SAT Registration Booklet contains test dates, registration deadlines, fees, instructions, test center codes, and other registration-related information. Just follow the instructions and mail to:

OR
Obtain the "SAT Information Bulletin" available free at USEFI offices or from the official SAT website, www.collegeboard.com.
Fill in the form, get the draft made (if you are not paying by credit card), and use the envelope provided with the form to mail these to:

2. Online Registration (a credit card is required):
Fill up the form online and provide your credit card number. This is the easiest way to register for SAT, especially as an international student.
Registration fees
So now we know how to register, but how much will it cost? Let's take a look:
To register for the basic SAT I, it's about $85, or Rs 3,500. Extra services, such as score by phone (instead of online), cost additional money.
