What: Aspirants to the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) must appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) on Sunday, November 18, 2007. IIMs -- Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Indore, Kozhikode and Lucknow.

Requirements:

~ The candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA, of any of the universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a university under section three of UGC act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

~ Candidates in the final year of bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification and those who have completed degree requirement and are awaiting results can also apply. Such candidates must produce a certificate from the Principal/Head of the Department/Registrar/Director of the university that the candidate is currently in the final year and has obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent based on latest available marks.

~ Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Gurgaon, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Noida, Patna, Pune and Varanasi.

Sale of CAT application forms:

~ The CAT application form and bulletin can be obtained from brances of UTI Bank [Get Quote]/Vijaya Bank [Get Quote] between July 16 and August 16, 2007 for Rs 1100. Please note that the candidate needs to buy only one CAT application form, irrespective of how many IIMs he or she is appliying to.

~ CAT application forms of ineligible candidates and application forms with incomplete information will be summarily rejected. CAT application forms, once sold, will not be taken back and no claims of refund of CAT application fee will be entertained.

~ Under exceptional circumstances, such as the stock of bulletins exhausts in the nearby branch of the bank, the bank is inaccessible to the candidate and the sale of bulletins from the bank has closed, CAT application form and the bulletin can also be obtained directly from any one of the IIMs until August 20, 2007.
