Spa treatments like facials, massages and body/ hair treatments are the rage among both men and women today.
Archana Masih reviews the Happy Glow Facial recently launched by Lakme Salon.
If you are bored of malls and multiplexes (of which we are seeing an overkill these days), a rejuvenating facial can work absolute magic.
I opted for one of the newly introduced facials at the Lakme Salon -- the Happy Glow Facial.
I was surprised -- it included a back massage, head massage, facial, hair wash and blow dry. I was told the whole thing would take two hours.
Now, anyone with long hair (mine is waist-length) would love to have a hair wash thrown in. Suddenly the cost -- Rs 1,500 -- did not pinch that much.
I was also told they would be using hot and cold stones to relax and rejuvenate my face. I decided to give it a shot.
First, I got a full back massage that was relaxing and, for once, did lull me to sleep. It was after a sponge by a hot towel, followed by a cold one, that I reluctantly woke up.
My efficient masseur then palced some smooth stones on various parts of my body to coincide, she said, with its charkas.
Then my face was massaged with some great smelling aromatic oil.
A scrub with walnut powder and my zits were removed. A face pack was applied and it was time for the 'half' head massage.
Here, aromatic oil is applied to the roots of your hair and the massage is again... mmm... sleep-inducing.
The lights were dulled. I lay on a soft white sheet and was covered by another -- it was all very comfy.
Next, came the hair wash and the lovely blow dry.
Rs 1,500 bucks down but I went out swishing my hair and feeling great!
